There seems to be a divide in what people think will happen in the future. But the conclusion should be the same.
Option 1: AI is a hoax and will never amount to anything. Conclusion: We shouldn't invest in all this crap.
Option 2: AI super intellegence can be a thing and is really really going to suck. Conclusion: We shouldn't invest in all this crap.
So why can't we get society to all agree, we shouldn't invest in this crap.
AI is already a thing - a thing that can track and trace and kill.
Even if it doesn't evolve much past this, they've already got the upper hand in all things most folks need/want.
Not to mention Data Centers needed for AI is very costly and has a 0 ROI due to the electricty bill.
