I want to donate to this site. But I know shit about cryptocurrency. We didn’t have cryptocurrency back when I got my MBA in the Stone Ages.

Is there an internet business that takes a credit card and converts it into a cryptocurrency donation.? I’m looking for recommendations for an honest firm. I’m guessing if I search engined this, it would give 6 gagillion hits; one or two of them honest.

Only Trump's family made money from that scam.

indeed - and what a joy and privilege it is to give them our paychecks

Based.
But cloud service.
Meh.

My Coinbase account was hacked as someone leaked the passwords. Also you need ID to be able to send and receive Crypto Coins.

You're doing it wrong.

[-]RickSanchez2(+2|0)

How do I do it right?

Don't use the cloud or online services.

If you must, then secure your operating system and browser, then use much stronger passwords in a private tab, print everything to paper or write it down clearly, duplicate if necessary, and treat these paper records like the precious valuables they are, then wipe everything else and burn it all down for good measure. That physical paper should be the only remaining tie. No one can hack that unless they hold it in their hand.

You might need ID or a bank account to buy or extract crypto via an exchange in some regions (ie. fucking Canada). Alternatively you could find someone trustworthy to convert cash, products, services, or work for Bitcoin. Or do something noteworthy and ask for donations.

I also haven't been keeping up since 2013.

We need to be in control of our own crypto, so critically:

  • Don't lose your wallet + keys - or it's lost forever.
  • Don't trust the cloud or online services - they can and have failed.

So, how can I keep my wallet + keys without an online service AND without having to download the entire Bitcoin history of every transaction adding up to hundreds of gigabytes needing perpetual updates?

I don't know anything about it either, but what about printing it on paper in a form that can be scanned?

[-]GuyWhite1(+1|0)

I don’t know how to do that.

Neat idea. QR codes aren't as complex as they seem.
Or etched in metal.
Whatever works.

Some police offer stole his wallet and got his Bitcoins.

Hopefully those were the decoy accounts.

LOL. I would never drive around with some floppy piece of important paper like that.

Sucks to be that guy.
Sucks that we live under tyranny.
That's just evidence of bad habits and poor digital hygiene.
Got to be smarter than that.
There's no shortage of clever easy ways to better secure critical papers and precious metals, undetectable, for the short and long term.
