So far I've noticed and as I understand it, on Matrix.Gvid.TV when it has /c/ that means a link or text post featuring the Comments and when it's /s/ that means it's a topical or community sub featuring that Subject. Is this correct @x0x7 ?
Yes. But then if there is extra data on an /s/ indicating a comment it sends it to the /c/ handler. And if that data is missing and the url looks like a request for a sub the /c/ handler will pass it to the /s/ handler.
And then to make it easier for people to find subs I went ahead and made a /v/ and /r/ handler that pass to the /s/ handler.
But all the links on the site do their best to send you to the right kind of link. It's just that if you type it as a human "wrong" it's going to figure it out instead of complain.
I am guessing /v/ and /r/ is short for Voat and Reddit subs?
About six years ago on SaidIt I suggested we make handlers for /wp/ /ws/ /ig/ etc. so that rather than typing out the entire url it would take you to Wikipedia, WikiSpooks, InfoGalactic, etc. as well as the obvious Reddit. It was well received at the the time but nothing came of it. Plus, similarly, I wanted to make indicators on InfoGalactic to show where common external links were directing without having to hover. Also bangs are a neat idea. Obviously now we've got some websites of our own too.
Whether by analysis of the most common links used on this site (/yt/), or intentional decisions by executive, committee, or public survey, it's always good to develop handles and other cool tools other sites don't have. d3rr injected chat before Reddit did.
X-posting this to /c/SolutionsWatch, which we should also use to separately track solutions.

Very cool.
