Just a few weeks ago I had my last chat with an interesting fellow at the Heritage Village (where I'll be Santa). Unfortunately he's leaving the Village on bad terms, though I don't know if it's his fault, the Village management, or what as I don't know the terms or circumstances or grievances.
I suspect it's a bit of both. This guy has dozens of antique Victrolas, radios, etc. and thousands of wax, vinyl, and other recordings. Certainly way more in one collection than the large Henry Ford Museum in Detroit, anything in Toronto, or anything in between or around. Sadly his things weren't ideally stored in the Village and now he's looking for somewhere else. Ideally someone with his passion would help set up a museum of some sort, but few folks care, much less care as is needed.
Unrelated, several years ago I edited this track into shorter sections, and have started animations for opening and closing credits for a show. I should finish the animation and start the series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooouRtQSSms
Imagine playing modern music on a Victrola. I'd play electronic and metal music just to hear what it sounds like coming out of that cone. Edit: It probably only plays at 88rpm and the stylus is mono so no dice.
