I have a lot of inspiring and motivational good to great art, media, and resistance books, including on/by Banksy.
I'm ever so tempted to start local cutting-"editorial" graffiti but I'm not confident I can evade surveillance (as was easy 20+ years ago in SF, NY, TO, etc.), much less cover the travel and expenses (26+ years ago I made 4x as much as I make now) - and it would distract from my other projects.
Though, what's different from 20+ years ago, is that in Windsor, Ontario there has developed a vibrant mural culture. I returned to Windsor in around 2011 extremely reclusive in an "anti"-depressant fog (long story), and quit with a very slow recovery. For my first "extroverted" effort, in 2015 I tried to offer my local Pillette Village business group my talents for art, branding, labour, and painting skills for free murals (if they paid for the supplies) to make Pillette a destination instead of a place to pass through on the way to somewhere else. They were NOT organized, so it didn't go anywhere. I thought my concept was quite original, however I learned about a simultaneous mural culture developing across Windsor. (I've taken many mural photos over the years, but not uploaded for some time. https://projex.wiki/wiki/Category:Windsor_murals )
So now, I am almost tempted to try to approach various places with mural/art proposals rather than illegally. But I wish to be VERY challenging, not just make nice art.
Semi-related, I've been considering advertising on Facebook to paint custom murals in homes (ie. characters on children's bedroom walls). My friend is likely investing in a mural printing business with his nephew - a very large set up like a CNC plotter or 3D printer but vertical rather than horizontal, it prints directly on the wall with any texture and looks fucking incredible. I'm hoping I might get in on some of that action.
