It's also impressive that he's not greedy, by merely improving the original engine, without boring the cylinders significantly or making modifications that would increase HP while not seriously reducing the life of the engine.
Any work on 280Zs in the US in 1980 cost a fortune, as it would now, because of the expensive Japanese parts. A friend of mine had two of them so that while one was in the shop, she could drive the other one. I think I never saw both of them together.
