Matcha or Macha?

I take macha with ginseng daily - better than edgy caffeine, though now I take caffeine with L-theanine without the edge.

2nd reply. I saw on a package I have that it spelled it matcha. It's all romanization either way.

Have you ever taken L-theanine on its own? It doesn't even need to be paired with caffine to be good. One side effect though of L-theanine on its own is it leads to higher meletonin production. So you could feel a bit groggy in the morning if you produce a bit too much. But that's not the L-theanine, that's meletonin.

I have a bottle of caffeine with L-theanine capsules and another bottle of just L-theanine capsules that I first got before I knew of the combo. I used it primarily to take the edge off caffeine. It's also great before bed if I'm wound up, have an early morning, or had caffeine after 2pm. Haven't had the grogginess from L-theanine yet - but will get groggy taking melatonin after 2am, so I won't and use L-theanine and ashwaganda instead if I'm sleepless.
