They can't fire you for paternity leave. There should be protections against being fired for being false arrested. And until a trial, people should be assumed possibly false arrested.
That or we should recognized that pre-trail jailing was never meant to be a thing unless violence is involved. It's a clear violation of the 4th Amendment. I've seen people complain about too many people getting out on bond. Well too bad. That's how the constitution is supposed to work. The government is supposed to be incapible of imposing any detriment to your life without having first completed a trial. Want fewer people out on bond? Gets speedier trials.
Also needed are bulwarks against lawfare, legal timesuck, and other wastes paid for by taxpayers while the citizens pay time and energy for nothing burgers and victimless "offenses".
