Memes have previously Been great cuz bots can't understand them so can't auto censor them like they can with text. Also historically using comedy to ridicule authoritarians has been a great tactic.
However AI may be now able to tell what a jpg or gif is and hence censor it. And make their own memes. Not sure.
It was more a statement about that specific macro image and other obnoxious ones. Of course the '00s had memes, but they weren't as cancerous as many modern ones.
It s a great meme template it can show how something is good and the other is bad. A core tenet of humanity. Being against it would be just cuz you want to be different, that's cringe tho.
