We should do a TV night. IT Crowd would be a top pick for me. I'm thinking about also having a gaming night, coding night, podcast night. Whatever takes people's interest. If you name a day of the week we will turn it into a TV night.
Yeah, im down for anything. I got a few hard days ahead of me but then i should be able to think. I know ISnark would love to binge watch red dwarf. So that's a thing. We could do a night of IT crowed, Dark Place, Red Dwarf, The Office (English one if we want to keep it thematically congruent). That could be fun and wouldn't take much out of a night, about 1 hour and a 1/2. Better than having an anime night, sempai.
Here's what I'm going to do, or we can try. I'm going to basically make a calendar. Basically something every night. If people show they show but we know what the theme of the night is. Then people can fill in the calendar with anything they like but I'll give it an initial start. If you put something on the schedule you might take 50%+ of the load to make it happen. Basically if we do this it would be super cool if people have a willingness to step up to the plate if I happen to not be there and they are. I say this because I'm also trying to do a lot of tech meetups lately (like one every night). And if I'm also doing a TV night most nights (doesn't take that much effort), I might not be super present. There might be some nights where I just set up the media and take off. There may be some nights were I do even less and it'd be cool to know people feel comfortable queuing up media. I'm willing to make basically anyone a mod on https://cytu.be/r/matrixhub, but you also don't need to be a mod to add stuff. But with this calendar it doesn't just have to be TV shows. People can pencil in a game night, a podcast night, a D&D night, a "let's help test my game" night. I'm going to see about coding or using some open source calendar system. I don't really want to do any sort of Google calendar. That or people can just direct requests at me and I'll have a calendar page, and maybe a sidebar.
That is a great idea. I love the idea about having a calendar of activites and who is hosting on the sidebar. That would put matrix ahead of every other aggregated social media/news platform. All it would need is to be able to click the day, see who is running what, you could DM them if you have questions, so on. Even if it gets little traction, its still a feature for around here. So i think that would be really super cool!
