American policies make EVERYTHING worse!

>Also “Baz Pilate”, composed of dismissed and serving police officers, often from specialized corps such as SWAT and riot police. The alliance includes former and serving police officers, young ex-Lavalas (Aristide supporter) members, PHTK’s political base from working-class neighborhoods, deportees and former soldiers.
This is why at the start of any political unrest you need to deal with the cops first. They are trained, organized and have familiarity with each other already. They also have personal grudges to settle, a taste for power and an inflated ego which is the holy trinity of evil.

What do you think can be done to keep cops from getting in that position to begin with?

An example needs to be set, one that would leave no doubt in the minds of cops about what they should and shouldn't do.
The problem is people. People will rally to cops and cops will let them because people are weak, stupid and self centered. They will beg for protection like they always do but that protection will come at a cost, like it always does, and then they will whine and beg someone to do something about it.

I'm personally for the death penalty for any level of police corruption. Giving them lighter than average sentences when they rarely do get in trouble really sends the wrong message. The message should be that they especially are expected to follow the law. The fact that our courts don't seem to process that it is more important for our law to be lawful than it is for them to be buddy buddy with people they see as working for them shows that they lack real scruples.
