First I asked chatgpt if it knew how many deaths there were on both sides in the last 30 years. It has no information. I'm pretty sure I could get that information if I asked about Vietnam.
But I thought to look it up more conventionally because I have seen those stats pretty easily for other conflicts.
Notice the box 'Casualties and Loses' on each page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IraqWarhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AttackonPearlHarborhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93PalestinianconflictI made sure to grab pages for both full wars and single battles. Have you notice they always break it down. But they seem to be afraid to do so for the Palestinian conflict. We know that the figures because they list a total. To have a total you have to tally both sides.
They also have at the bottom:

Ah. Because every year the difference ranges from 10 fold to 100 fold, averaging around 20 fold. Who is killing who? Who is presenting political authority over the other?
