Someone added this to Img.gvid.tv but didn't post it. So I have.

About 10 or 12 years ago I presented that photo to Lorianne (sp?) at her Vintage House, a local antiques and curiosities store of many, since closed during lockdowns. The plan was to arrange stuff in her store for op-art (optical illusion art) photo(s) as a campaign gimmick for advertising. Long in development and timing and store supply and business and distractions, eventually COVID got in our way, so it never happened.

I didn't know anything more than it was a neat photo, much less who took it and why. I don't have other examples but suspect it can't be the only photo like that. Though it may be the best example, I feel like it's not an entirely original concept. I used to like the back page of Mad Magazines, puzzle imagery, and other op-art.

Turns out Bela Borsodi is the Austrian still life photographer based in New York City who took it. He does other interesting fashion work but none quite as notable, IMO. The photo "was used as cover art for an album titled Terrain by VLP." (Source: Colossal)

This image, among others, have inspired me to emulate this and other concepts when I finish my studio. My Santa Libertas character can be placing or removing things while speaking to viewers explaining psy-ops and illusions related to biases, fallacies, narratives, politics, voting, world order, etc. Other inspirations include lining up things to create an image (as seen in photos with stuff hung from ceiling), lining up things to cast a shadow, etc. - all can only seen from the correct perspective (or have the single light casting shadows from the correct point). Semi-related, things may also be arranged like a Rube Goldberg machine or the old Mouse Trap game if you prefer.
