It plays out like an investigation, being pieced together after a space tragedy
mainly made up of "recovered/found footage", though much higher quality than something like Blair Witch.

I prefer hard-sci-fi - without magic, monsters, or bad physics.
I'm with you. While fantasy is a great genre, I don't want fantastical things in my sci-fi. Give me real physics and on-the-edge-of-believable creatures.
