She's listed as the gender reporter at CBC, so that tells you everything you need to know.

Her Instagram bio: "Writer, journalist, mom of two autistic kiddos. I'm a senior writer at CBC News, unpublished/tortured novelist, late dx autistic woman. Always tired."

[-]dog0(+2|-2)

What? Why bother shitting on her for no reason? She's just a writer for the CBC, doing whatever they ask her to do. So, "she covers stories on social trends, families, gender, human interest, as well as general news." What's your job?

[-]RegiminiJiminy8(+8|0)

Posting her own words from her bio not shitting on her.

[-]dog-1(+1|-2)

He writes - "She's listed as the gender reporter at CBC, so that tells you everything you need to know."

No that certainly does not tell you everything you need to know. WTF

gender reporter

That's all I need to know.

Report just in: Crazy gender propaganda is worth ignoring.

[-]hfxB0oyA1(+1|0)

Your opinion on the subject is duly noted.

Just another woman who's mad that she can't control everything about the world.

[-]dog-1(+1|-2)

Oh for fuck's sake, she merely writes about stuff.

[-]hfxB0oyA4(+4|0)

In this video she lectures men about how they should run around women, so the women don't think that they are, and I quote, "a serial killer".

I'm glad she's managed to avoid all of the actual serial killers who jog in her community, given her opinion that there are so many.

In a way there is an overlap in what you are both saying. But it's not a good thing. The question is how much is it because she is crazy vs because it is her job. It could be either one. But if somehow she wasn't crazy, personally, she would still have to play a crazy person on tv (or rather insta and article). Because she needs to complain about something every day it is going to be reaching at some point.

We could apply some functionalism, aka interpreting things by what they do. If she could be insane personally, or be doing a job, but they have the same outcome, does it matter?

[-]dog0(+1|-1)

Agreed. My view is that it's doesn't matter. An editor tells this lady what to write, or approves her occasional ideas, and she writes a lot of different articles.

If the one article is so offensive, about how men are perceived by women when both are out jogging, perhaps it helps to know one woman's point of view. I'm told by women that they are sometimes pursued by men or followed, when they are out alone. If that had happened to me - if I were a woman - I'd be pissed.

Perhaps she could have avoided the discussion of men entirely, focusing only on the weapons women should carry when out on a run. Perhaps a derringer, some ninja stars, an ice pick, bear spray? Women's running shorts and tops should have pockets for all of that stuff.

The video linked at the top of this thread by xoenix doesn't seem to be related to an article and instead seems to be a personal hot take by the woman. If that is the case, it still doesn't mean she's crazy, but it may be a symptom of an overriding cultural terror that's been inculcated into Western women. Should she be aware of her surroundings? Sure. Should she be open carrying knives? I guess that's up to her and the laws of Canada. Should she be lecturing men that they're all shitty people in her opinion? Also yes. But if men in turn call her on her paranoia, that's also fair dealing.

In short, males should be a man (all the noble traits that entails) - and females should behave like women (with all the grace and strengths they can muster).

[-]dog-1(0|-1)

I refer to the post - 'Is this journalist even a real person?' - and then the example of the video by the OP, and ague that in both cases the OP and some others here make way too many assumptions about this lady, for no understandable reason. Did she do anything wrong? No. Is there any reason her comments in both cases seem problematic in any way? No. Is there any reason to assume she's not a person or that she is paranoid? No. Is she lecturing men? No. Criticism of this lady is so absurd that I've joked about the need for women to carry weapons (because victims of assault are often blamed for not being able to defend themselves, or for wearing the wrong clothes, or whatever). Attacking this woman is so unnecessary. She doesn't deserve that. In fact, these assumptions about the lady remind me of the incels at Reddit. They're brutal toward women, which of course says more about them than it does about women in general.

[-]JasonCarswell1(+1|0)

perhaps it helps to know one woman's point of view.

Sure. Perhaps it helps to know a man's point of view - that stupid paranoid women are brainwashed, bitchy, and barren - destroying the future of all mankind.

But a balanced viewpoint would be better.

Ninja stars are illegal in Canada. Why? Because enough stupid kids hurt themselves and/or enough stupid parents thought it was worth banning. Fancy but not too effective in conflicts. I think nunchakus and switchblades are too.

[-]dog0(0|0)

Ninja stars are illegal in Canada... I think nunchakus and switchblades are too.

Bummer. Seems she can carry hunting knives, as long as they're visible. So women joggers should strap Gerber Mark II daggers to each thigh, and strap Gerber Venture throwing knives to their arms.

that stupid paranoid women are brainwashed, bitchy, and barren - destroying the future of all mankind.

LOL - no evidence of that

But a balanced viewpoint would be better.

Yup

[-]x0x73(+3|0)

If you are that scared of the world just stay inside.

[-]JasonCarswell3(+3|0)

I wonder if she could tell his race by his footsteps?

Learning from the Ministry of Silly Walks doesn't mean you won't be a hyper-paranoid woman or a male cereal killer.

If it’s white, it’s alright.

If it’s brown, flush it down.
