Magic indeed!

Hints of Brothers In Arms in there too (used to great effect in a Miami Vice episode, where I discovered the album - before I worked in a record store).

I'd assumed it was a slide guitar, but it's more like Daniel Lanois (live, exceptional Montréal producer with a monster resume). Who needs a wah-wah pedal or whammy bar when you can play like that?

One of my fave Mark Knopfler tracks is Working On It, from the soundtrack to the Wag The Dog prescient political satire movie.
