Both just numb your nerves

Not something I think about at all, but it seems that this is a discussion often amongst ADHD folks. Here's what appears to be a decent explanation:

Here’s my observations based on using this for ADHD. The sheet, duvet and weighted blanket will all be explained..

1 L Theanine alone… (the sheet)

Very chilled, very mild. I had taken 2x 400mg so 800mg all up with a coffee. Your average double shot. Empty stomach. Within an hr I began to notice a subtle yet noticeable change in my observations of what was going on around me (Hospitality worker) & I found it very therapeutic. Couldn’t tell you that it lasted any longer for the noticeable changes it brought after 8 hours.

2 L Theanine & L Tyrosine (the duvet)

2x 400mg of L Theanine, coffee & empty stomach. This example will be expanded on tomorrow when I get to take both simultaneously tomorrow. Again very chill after 1hr, the wellness shop was open 4 hours later so I knew I’d still have a degree of chill & had 2x 500mg L Tyrosine. Within an hour that was noticeable, this is what I’d probably consider a duvet effect. I had an appointment 3 hours after I took it and I had to wait about 45mins for my appointment & I’d generally feel quite anxious, no matter if it’s a good appointment or not. I was not. I filled out pages of paper work without hesitation & in fact a great deal more focus. No massive sensation of having taken anything to help quiet the mind but very noticeable. These are a combination of that results in no sedation type feeling like pharmaceutical meds for adhd.

3 Slow Release Ritalin (The weighted blanket)

Before I talk about this I haven’t been diagnosed yet. Which can be a bad turn however I have a huge degree of trust in my friends ability to recognise adhd symptoms & took her word for it & I’m glad I did. She will be on her way to becoming a well adapt psychologist in some years now. I had taken one dose first thing in the morning, coffee addict so with coffee, & within an hour QUIET. Not a sound. Not a distraction unless I directly looked for it. I ate because of the susceptibility to interfere with your appetite recognition. 3 hours after the dose I wanted to sleep (which is the one noticeable factor from this medication that a diagnosis might be beneficial, I was very much in denial I could be adhd) and sleep I did, for about four hours. When I woke up still very quiet, had more coffee & continued about my day being somewhat confused about how quiet and focused I was on it considering anyone who doesn’t have adhd would go like an energizer bunny on it. By night I could see the effects dissipating and I was semi agitated because as I was getting to bed I began to think busy which would’ve been 12-14hrs after the dose. I had thought I would’ve eneded up hyped and achieved a massive degree of tasks I had planned to try execute when I had it. All I wanted was sleep.

The descriptions I’ve given these (the sheet, the duvet & the weighted blanket) are how I describe the effects. If you were lying down & one of those objects was thrown over you, that’s how they’d land over you. Weird way to describe it but it’s the best characterisation I could give these experiences. Like the blanket, sheet or duvet slowly caressing over your body as it’s thrown when you make the bed.

I cannot say which I prefer but I know I prefer duvet & weighted blanket thus far. sauce
