But as we know, U.S. sanctions since 2014 have blocked market access, making it imposssible for Vz to raise the cash to pay loans and bonds. Trump Admin (Big Oil) expanded the santions in 2017. ConocoPhillips is owed $10b, Citgo is owed $20b, ExxonMobil is owed $1.6b, Exxon is owed $1.4 billion, and Chevron is owed money. That's of course a lot of money, but I'm not seeing debt to US BigOil as the main reason for kidnapping Maduro, though it may have been. Something bigger is at play, I would guess, and it relates to taking Vz's oil wealth (shitty quality oil). Some info.
