Can we use this to track federal employees? Will they get to turn it off? Can China track US federal employees with it? Will Microsoft(china) comply with requests?
If you think this doesn't impact you if you use linux, if every computer has an ID and you don't have one, you are now automatically watched just for that. And once apple does the same, both Apple and Microsoft can testify infront of congress that this kind of tracking is industry standard but Linux doesn't do it and could always be circumvented. And bam, they kill linux as illegal non-compliant software. Microsoft and Apple would 100% do that, because with a perfectly tight duopoly they can raise prices indefinately.
