I like this but I'll probably have to make the polls shorter or make them even taller in the UI. The reason why I'm doing very long polls lately is I have some machine learning that I'm feeding this data into to make it so we get really amazing movies only later. But to leverage it every movie needs to get at least one exposure at least. People kept feeding me movies, which is a good thing, and I have a list over 300 long. So to give every movie an exposure quickly I need absurdly long polls. I almost tried 40 this week but it was too much. But with this UI I likely can only do 7, because it kind of sucks that you have to scroll down to submit it.
It is better with the frame heights fitted to the content. So in this case really tall. If I make the polls a hair shorter it should be even better. If I modify the ranking code I'm plugging the results into I may be able to tap some value out of the data before we've gotten the whole list exposed. Then there is less pressure to make the polls long. That or I could do one week with the longest poll anyone has ever seen and get it over with.
It works even better if I disable some scrolling. The downside the the buttons don't line up 100% if you have already voted. But I don't care about people who have already voted so... This will be what we try the next week. Then I get some of these sites I'm inviting actually coming to Matrix.
