It seems obvious or that I'm trying to be overly simple to be funny but I'm not.
People don't really think about what they eat or listen to their bodies to determine what they should eat. They actually listen to culture. They always have. So people think, other people eat that, they aren't dead, so I should eat that too. It shows how much people take cue-ing from those around them. So much so that to the degree that when they have problem instead of questioning, maybe what society informed that I should eat is wrong, instead they ask maybe I need medication.
But if you think about what heart burn / acid reflex actually is it seems more obvious. It's caused by your stomach half throwing up because it's attempting to reject what you put in it. If your body's instinctual response to eating something is to without conscious effort vomit, you probably shouldn't make it a habit to eat that.
Taking medication to force it to reach your lower GI isn't the answer. Maybe you should go throw up because what you ate wasn't good. Of course throwing up is going to burn your throat more which is why it's a toss up if it really is justified to intentionally throw up in response. But probably the minimally smart thing you could do is take note of what caused it and never eat it again. Most people think they should just eat it less often. But if your body has already told you "I don't consider that real food." Or at least some part of it it doesn't consider real food and wants to get rid of it. You should probably eat it never. Never experiencing heart burn again is a side benefit.
