When governments are hostile to its citizens, then actions targeting the online infrastructure of said governments are legitimate.

In this day and age, one's citizenship should no longer be tied to geographical location. Anyone is free to renounce their citizenship, and instead pledge loyalty to a cybernation.

In this context, the actions described should additionally be seen as actions which liberate a cybernation's own citizens that are held captive by the hostile government.

The actions are final peaceful resorts that are born from the despair caused by a lack of democracy.

The solution is to increase democracy, abandon authoritarianism, and instate true representation of citizens. Not to persecute citizens for peaceful actions.

To complete the legitimation of the described actions, it's incumbent upon governments to abandon rhetoric treating them as "cyber crimes", likewise abandon laws prohibiting them, and instead rebrand them as Digital Countermeasures for Democracy.

These countermeasures should be reckognized as signals that the government is overreaching.

When tensions between citizens and governments play out in a digital realm, it can substitute violence. As such, the countermeasures should be welcomed.
