Last month, Gergely Gulyás, minister for the prime minister's office, doubled down on his government's refusal to abide by the ECJ ruling and threatened to bus migrants to the Belgian capital as retaliation for the eye-watering fine.

"If Brussels wants migrants, they will get them," Gulyás said. "We will give everyone a one-way ticket if the EU makes it impossible to stop migration at the external border."

I wish my government was this based. I hope they flood us all with migrants so that more countries realize they gotta leave the EU asap and the whole thing collapses. Let's restore our sovereignty.

This is why you don't give a trade union authority over anything beyond trade. I wonder how we can get more countries to exit? It's clearly in their interest.

The only problem is then they end up with ridiculous tariffs with their most immediate trade partners. I blame these tariffs for the war in Ukraine. The tariffs lead to the EU being expansionary because countries on the satellite have an unfair disadvantage when they can't trade with countries immediately neighboring them. Then we have the classic problem the west has always had with Russia and we've seen in other geographies where there is a geographic gap between two civilizations and once one or both become expansionary war is inevitable.

If everyone traded freely there would not be a war. The non-free market sin of Russia is Gazprom being an extension of Russia and Russia being an extension of Gazprom. That combo of non-free markets is the real cause of the war. It's the only structural reason for Russia and the west to be at odds and any other difference can be resolved.

I wonder if Europeans understood that tariffs put them on an inevitable path toward violence if they would support them. Maybe Russia should apply to the EU. I think they already have as a joke.
