https://searchvoat.co was shutdown in August 2025. The site says it was shutdown due to online safety legislation where it was hosted. What legislation do you think that was referring to? But the follow up question is that if the owner was really motivated to keep it going they could have easily re-hosted it. So clearly they lost motivation. What do you think caused that?
Are their any archives?
I think they slowly lost their user base. The last few times I had looked at it 90% of the content was contributed by doginventer. It looked a lot like flingup has. I just checked flingup and it looks like atko convinced doginventer to not over post and take over the site, like he will on any small site that will accept his posts. When there isn't balance people want to stop visiting, next they stop posting, and then that one user further dominates the site.
The point is that's why I think they didn't just re-host in somewhere where it doesn't matter. The UK and Australia aren't even ideal hosting locations regardless if you are going to have a single locale.
Where was that?
Where is still free of censorship?
What about the dark web?
Also, importantly:
Does GoatMatrix have defensive and contingency plans?
And how can we help?
