I'm okay with bonus points as nudges for users to do something, but the algo should be written somewhere, and bonus points should be noted on post page somewhere.
Agreed. Documenting it is not giving away secrets so folks can cheat - it's letting people know how to play the game that has been decreed. (Obviously, I'd prefer no game.)
Agreed. I'd prefer they be called "boost points". The "bonus" is never earned. I'd also prefer that they dissolve away after time so that in the end you get the authentic vote when you look back in time at a sub for activity, curiosity, or for reference.
