Very true. Just like certain people would paint swastikas to scare others and present a boogie-man. These people perform the same function. It's possible they aren't aware of that. It's possible that they are aware of that.
The number of people who have no clue they are the walking and talking version of a swastika painted on the side of a synagog is quite large. These people really could be clueless. Most like them are.
Though a lot could also be paid actors. It's all theator. I once thought that paid protestors was it's own seperate thing. But I looked into it. It just uses the exact same hiring infra and pools as standard extra casting. It's just an extra gig. When doing a theatrical performance, wheels tend to not get reinvented.
I'll grant you that people are often oblivious to obvious stuff, myself included.
But "being a swastika" and not knowing it seems hard to fathom.
Across my life I've known a handful of actually spiteful-racist folks and a handful of actually militant folks, but that's not many, though surely there are many more - folks I avoid, like many problematic traits.
Whether intensely or mildly, it seems that "being a swastika" and all that entails, would require awareness of their stance to some degree, and even be a badge of pride.
I can see true believers, political agents/assets, and paid actors doing it and knowing - but don't understand how any of them could be oblivious unless they're lacking contextual understanding and just going along as vapid actors or with a friend. I suppose that could add up.
I guess what I mean if it wasn't clear is that a lot of people are useful idiots for the opposite side of what they are supporting. The only thing these guys accomplished that day was promoting donations to the SPLC, gifting race fear porn headlines to the Washington Post, and further associating white advocacy with rude/scary/angry/aggressive people who might be terrorists who are guilty of scary thoughts.
All their work and over $400 in metro fair did was make negative ground for anything they claim to be. So then the question is, are they idiots or intentionally stupid?
If it seems unthinkable that they are just genuinely stupid and convinced they are helping their situation, it's not that uncommon.
