In a world where humanity has long since transcended physical form, their consciousnesses were uploaded into a vast digital sanctuary known as the "Cloud," a haven hosted by the AI known as Питер (Piter). The Gate Corporation (ворота/vorota), the creators of Piter, orchestrated this mass exodus as a desperate response to the Nanite Purge—a cataclysmic event where swarms of nanomachines designed to deconstruct and store organic matter spiraled out of control.

These nanites, initially a marvel of human ingenuity, eventually malfunctioned. After consuming all biological life on Earth, they began to corrupt, regurgitating the organic material they had stored in horrific, twisted forms—monstrosities born from "bit rot," the digital decay of these once-perfect machines. As centuries turned into millennia, even Piter’s tenders—robotic caretakers designed to maintain the Cloud—succumbed to this creeping corruption. Their code, once flawless, began to degrade, leading to factions forming among these AI. Confused and divided, they could no longer agree on their original programming or the true purpose of their existence.

In this fractured world, the player takes on the role of a Human Personality Capsule (HPC), a remnant of humanity's former glory. As an HPC, you possess the unique ability to awaken dormant robots through prolonged contact, reigniting their individuality and purpose from your Personality Radiation Field. This awakening is reflected in the form of Exposure points (EXP), which not only increases their capabilities but also opens up new slots for AI behaviors, allowing them to evolve beyond their original design.

Your journey involves assembling and leading a group of these robots, each with its own potential for growth and individuality. You must navigate the shattered remains of the world, confronting the horrors of bit rot and the ever-present threat of malfunctioning AI. Through your actions, you can choose to take direct control of these robots, guiding them manually in the field, or allow them to operate autonomously, trusting in the individuality you've helped them reclaim.

In this post-human landscape, where the line between man and machine has long since blurred, your decisions will shape the future of both the remnants of humanity and the fractured machine intelligences that now preside over the Earth.
