I host old game servers to keep old vidya alive people still want to play.

I want to add some new games, do some game nights and stuff. What do you guys think would be worth hosting? Are there any good mods?

I still have my original Intellivision and Commodore 64.
Haven't opened the boxes in about 30 years.
I have other good old props for Santa Libertas.
I wonder if it could be possible to hook them up to something like an old fashioned web-cam, but more interactive.

There are USB and SD card adapters, so they can use a USB webcam with a Wifi card and get on the Internet. Intellivision has an AOL-like adapter and modem to play games with other 8-bit computers, but I forgot what it is called. It is a game network that stores games on the Internet and downloads them to the Intellivision or Commodore 64.

Video out:

The hard part would be connecting new remote-controllers to control the game rather than the attached paddle/joystick/number pads.

Also, you can only play one game cartridge at a time - with a max of two users at time.

The entire thing would be better as an emulator with a library of games and unlimited users.

Follow up question, what servers are you running currently?

Most online games run a proprietary backend so there's only a handful of servers that can be run and a pretty narrow era of games.

I've started playing Luanti, which is open source Minecraft. I've thought about inviting people.

@cyberix, if you want to host game nights, where you thinking about basically doing this all the time or once a weekish?

Multiplayer doom would be fun. Slaughter maps are easier with friends.

That I can recall only 3 games seem of interest to me and I've still never tried them.
Myst, Spore, and Fez.

I don't even know if they can be multiplayer or not.
